An AI App Store?

2023 has truly prevailed as the year of AI. Collins Dictionary named it their ‘Word of the Year’, and now this…

Open AI has announced a breakthrough for those interested in AI, with two major announcements:

Custom GPTs:

Now, anyone can build custom versions of ChatGPT that combine instructions, extra knowledge and any combination of skills, without even having to write a line of code.

GPT Store:

Those who do build a GPT will also be able to sell them on the GPT Store, coming later this month.

What does this mean?

The launch of the GPT Store is only comparable to that of the App Store back in 2008. For reference, Apple’s App Store has 1.8 million apps which generated over $1.1 trillion last year alone.

Meanwhile, OpenAI’s upcoming GPT Store currently has 0 apps and £0 revenue. This means a huge opportunity exists for individuals who plan to build on this platform.

It takes months to create a phone app, but only a few minutes to build a GPT. This and the consideration that you don’t need to write a line of code to build your own GPT, means any self-starter can get involved.

What can be created?

Open AI is confident that the community will invent the best GPTs. From a Creative Writing Coach to a Laundry Buddy who advises users on stains, your imagination is your only limit.

Enterprise customers will be able to deploy internal-only GPTs. This means versions of ChatGPT can be created for specific use cases, departments, or proprietary databases.

In Summary

So, what are you waiting for? With so much untapped potential, this launch could be a goldmine for anyone who gets on board now.
