Roland Mouret has long been a firm fashion favourite amongst industry professionals and celebrities – his 2006 Galaxy dress has become one of the most iconic pieces of this Century and literally shaped the way designers silhouetted the female form.

Following consistent success in both retail and etail the Roland Mouret digital team partnered with Propeller to relaunch their online presence by completely redeveloping their site. The brief: a site that fully reflects the care and attention that goes in to each of Roland’s stunning creations that will match the brand’s expansion and easily allow for digital evolution. The solution: a beautifully bespoke site that sits on Propeller’s proprietary platform, supporting multiple integrations, currencies, custom features and functionality. A fully CMS controlled site that allows the in-house digital team the freedom to alter, edit and update as and when they need; the sky is the limit.

We’re all on the move…

Mobile traffic has overtaken desktop traffic in 2014 and with that in mind we built the Roland Mouret site responsively. Users have the best possible experience whether they are on a mobile or a tablet as the site responds to the device. No more pinching and zooming, every aspect of navigating the site through to the purchase journey has been considered and built to optimum effect.

Shop the Look

We wanted to combine Roland Mouret’s fantastic campaign imagery with ecommerce functionality, gently suggesting outfit combinations with the same level of service that you would receive in store. We custom built a Shop the Look feature that allows users to add an entire look to their basket without navigating away from the page. Custom facets specific to this area of the site allow for inclusive filtering by colour, size or clothing style – making it easy to get the perfect look for that special event!

With four collections a year we needed to build a special place to house the different seasons in a visually arresting format. Collections is a multi disciplinary area comprising video and images, that also allows you to shop key pieces that are in stock. Combining inspiring footage of the current season with ecommerce functionality subtly keeps shopping at the forefront of the user experience.

A platform for success

The Roland Mouret site transacts in three currencies and is internationalisation ready, with the ability enter translations for all parts of the site. Launching later this year we’re launching a bespoke integration that allows customers to check out in their preferred currency whether it be in Franc or Krone, with all duties, taxes and import charges taken care of.

The Roland Mouret site is a beautiful example of luxury ecommerce supported by a robust platform. Launched in Summer 2014 the site has received mentions in several online publications such as WWD and Style.com and the exposure following collaborations with Woolmark and Banana Republic have extended its reach and appeal even further.
