Born from a vision to design and manufacture high-performance appliances at affordable prices in 2004, Cleva has grown into a 1,200-strong workforce, manufacturing over 65 million appliances.

Cleva, previously selling through resellers like Amazon, wanted to establish a direct-to-consumer (D2C) e-commerce presence that reflected their brand identity and empowered customer experience. However, their existing Shopify 1.0 website lacked the flexibility and functionality to achieve this.

Taking Shopify to the next level

Propeller partnered with Cleva to deliver a comprehensive Shopify 2.0 upgrade that allowed them to connect with their customers directly. This included a complete website redesign that ensured a cohesive look and feel for both Vacmaster and Lawnmaster, distinct from reseller experiences. It also now allows for complete flexibility for the client, as they have control to build landing pages and content that wasn’t an option in their previous platform. 

Our team of developers took advantage of the customisable Shopify 2.0 features, enabling Cleva to create 337 custom templates, collections and product templates.

Streamlining the user experience

With the user experience in mind, we optimised the checkout flow, adding all cart information to the mini cart and taking customers straight to payment options when they click through. This cut out the number of clicks necessary for customers to place orders, making it easy to order directly through Cleva.

We placed a great focus on clearer product information and compatibility which in turn has minimised the frustration of purchasing incorrect accessories, leading to fewer returns and improved customer satisfaction.

The expanded support section highlights the benefits of buying direct – superior product knowledge, extended lifespan, and dedicated support, reducing the burden on customer service representatives. Product pages were also optimised to improve search engine ranking and organic traffic.
