Stop guessing where you stand on bookings

This year marks 25 years since Propeller was founded. Hospitality has given us so much over that time, so we wanted to give something back: the UK’s first sector-wide report benchmarking where you sit on bookings.

The Hospitality Bookings Benchmark is delivered by Propeller and KAM, built for an industry where pre-booked business sits at the core of most brands, yet too few operators know where they truly stand vs their peers.

It enables marketing and operations teams to:

  • Benchmark booking performance against competitors
  • Make informed strategic and technology decisions at board level
  • Back investment in booking flow, deposits and CRM with data-driven metrics
  • Reduce no-shows and lift conversion at every stage of the booking journey

What We Uncovered For 2026

A broad variety of hospitality brands completed an in-depth survey, capturing metrics across everything from table reservations and room bookings to PDRs and large party enquiries. The survey dug deep into conversion and drop-off rates, deposits and no-show costs, the booking technology landscape, and how AI is starting to reshape both online and telephone bookings. Only hospitality brands who contributed data get access to the full benchmarking data, but a free summary report is available to all.

Hospitality Talks Podcast

When was the last time you tried to book your own venue as if you were a customer? Not checking the booking system or looking at the data, but actually Googling yourself, finding a table and going through the whole journey.

It’s one of the brilliantly simple takeaways from the Hospitality Talks episode with KAM’s Jo Lynch and Matthew Richardson from Propeller. They get into where hospitality businesses could be unknowingly making it harder for customers to book and what operators should actually be looking at if they want to convert more of the demand they already have.
