Collegiate is an award winning premium student accommodation provider operating across the UK, Spain, Portugal, and Italy. Built around the expectations of a considered audience, Collegiate serves both students seeking an aspirational, community oriented place to live and parents seeking reassurance, safety, and peace of mind.
Collegiate’s brand is built on the belief that where students live has a direct impact on how they feel, perform, and succeed academically. Its residences are designed to reflect student ambition, support wellbeing, and create independence and community.


The Challenge
As the brand expanded across Europe and matured in the UK, Collegiate needed to balance inspiration with clarity and trust ensuring it resonated equally with students and parents navigating one of the most important decisions in the academic journey. This is where the website plays a critical role in shaping first impressions, answering questions, and guiding decision making across multiple international markets.
The purpose built student accommodation sector is highly seasonal, competitive, and increasingly influenced by shifting student behaviour, international study patterns, and broader market volatility. Over time, Collegiate’s challenge evolved from driving awareness and occupancy to building long-term loyalty, encouraging repeat bookings across multiple years of study, and supporting students at different stages of their academic lifecycle. This required a digital experience that could flex between early-stage research, parental reassurance, and practical booking without fragmenting the brand.
There was a high importance placed on the website being able to serve multiple countries, languages, and cultural expectations through a cohesive digital platform. Content needed to feel locally relevant while remaining consistent, premium, and recognisably Collegiate. The website had to function not only as a marketing tool, but as a scalable, future proof foundation capable of adapting to changing market conditions.

Our approach focused on designing a flexible, user centred digital ecosystem that combined brand storytelling, intuitive functionality, and scalable content architecture to allow for Collegiate to sustain performance through market shifts while protecting brand integrity.
Design & Language Framework
We developed a layered language strategy that adapts to user intent without diluting the brand. Aspirational, lifestyle led copy speaks to students exploring independence and community, while clearer, reassuring messaging supports parents making high consideration decisions.
This was supported by multiple language toggles built into the site’s core architecture, allowing international users to switch seamlessly between languages without disrupting the premium look and feel. The result is a consistent, accessible experience that balances inspiration with clarity across markets.
Booking & Functional Experience
Booking functionality was designed as a natural extension of the website experience, rather than a separate or overtly transactional step. Through the integration of StarRez, booking journeys are embedded within the wider content flow, supporting users as they move seamlessly from inspiration to action.
The focus was on clarity, ease of use and reassurance, particularly important for high value decisions. By aligning content, navigation and calls to action, users can progress confidently without friction or unnecessary repetition. This approach ensures the booking journey reinforces, rather than undermines, the premium positioning of Collegiate, encouraging conversion while maintaining trust and consistency across the collection.
Content Architecture & Guides
Keyword informed guides were built into the site structure to support students and parents browsing and long tail discovery. These guides were designed not only to improve findability, but to genuinely answer student and parent questions, from location insights to living expectations reinforcing Collegiate’s authority without overtly selling. The result is a content ecosystem that supports users at every stage of consideration, while remaining evergreen and adaptable year after year.
Always-On Support
To support peak seasonal demand and international audiences, a chatbot experience was introduced for both UK and European markets. The chatbot provides immediate, contextual assistance, answering practical questions, directing users to relevant content, and supporting decision making in real time. This added an always-on layer of support without disrupting the premium feel of the site.




Our Approach
International Platforms & Localised Experiences
Recognising that international audiences engage differently with digital platforms, Collegiate extended its digital presence beyond the core website into market-specific environments.
For the Chinese market, a WeChat Mini Program was introduced, accessed via a scannable QR code. Designed as a mobile-first, culturally familiar experience, the Mini Program allows students and parents to explore accommodation information within a trusted platform they already use.
The Mini Program complements the main website by offering:

Blog posts and news articles were positioned as an extension of the brand experience, enabling Collegiate to communicate updates, insights, and community stories beyond the booking cycle. This editorial layer supports ongoing engagement, simultaneously boosting SEO and positioning Collegiate as a long term partner in student life rather than a one time accommodation provider.
