The Background
Pocari is a premium sports and wellness brand centred around hydration, science backed performance, and high-quality ingredients. With roots in medical research and owned by Otsuka Pharmaceuticals, Pocari stands apart in the competitive sports nutrition market through its scientific and clinical credibility.
Their products support athletes and health conscious consumers seeking hydration solutions grounded in real evidence. Pocari’s have a unique advantage, which comes from its pharmaceutical backing, offering unmatched scientific authority and trust within the wellness category.

The Challenge
Before engaging Propeller, Pocari’s core challenge was to break into and establish a meaningful foothold in the highly competitive American e-commerce market. Their existing digital presence lacked the tailored branding, messaging, and youthful digital experience required to resonate with US consumers.
Key Goals:
Launch a fully refreshed website with updated branding and messaging built specifically for the American audience.
Develop a youthful, product first digital experience that highlights both the science and lifestyle elements of the brand.
Leverage their pharmaceutical credibility while maintaining an approachable, aspirational feel.

Our Approach
The journey began with a complete migration to Shopify, paired with a redesign built around speed, conversion and a bold visual identity tailored to a younger US audience. Alongside improved UX and product storytelling, the new platform created a stronger foundation for both growth and brand discovery. From there, we implemented a full-funnel marketing strategy, managing paid media, SEO, CRM and social under one coordinated performance framework. This allowed each channel to work together, driving awareness, acquisition and repeat purchase.
CRM quickly became a key growth lever. Through Klaviyo, we launched advanced lifecycle automations and a structured email calendar designed to nurture customers beyond their first purchase and increase lifetime value. At the same time, always-on paid media campaigns across Meta, Google and TikTok focused on acquiring new US customers, while ongoing SEO and organic optimisation strengthened Pocari’s visibility in a highly competitive category.
We also refreshed the brand’s social ecosystem, auditing each channel and refining content structure and profiles to improve engagement and referral traffic. Together, these efforts created a connected digital growth engine — aligning Pocari’s e-commerce experience with the marketing channels driving demand.
